ReplyDeleteNo. Not speaking out against it is. Some say I'm pro life for my self but others are free to choose. Those people have sinned.even though they themselves haven't had an abortion.
DeletePersonal sin is such sins that people commit because of their lifestyle. Swearing, stealing, lying etc.
ReplyDeleteCommunal sins are sins that are committed because you are part of a community and that community is active in sins. Such as the US and being in war, we fund the military for weapons through taxes and the military kills human beings, being a sin. We would never commit such a sin but we are partaking in it because we help in a way. Hope that helps
I have been contemplating the fact that people have, for a very long time, have been inconsiderate of creation and have lead to the extinction of unique and irreplaceable life forms, yet we do not directly acknowledge that as communal sin in Judaism, Christianity nor Islam from what I can determine. This seems to be a great gap in our religious ethics, that no doubt comes from the fact that our ancestors who wrote our holy books could not comprehend this concept even if it was revealed. What should we do about it now?
