Nationalism - Love without limits. People started to believe love your neighbor and hate your enemy. Jesus tells the story of the Good Samaritan and he is clearly telling them that they are calling beyond their own limits of their own Judaism to love all people, even their enemies.

Legalism - Love expressed in deeds. Punishment was needed to keep order and peace. Jesus wanted to forgive and help everyone. He said that the Kingdom was prepared for those who helped him when he was hungry, thirsty, naked, ill, imprisoned and lonely.
